Seeking to buy my third watch - Voting

Received my first Patek Philippe 5712r few days ago, as it is a blind purchase I was quite satisfy with it and have no regret at all as this sexy beauty never left my wrist.

Moving on, as I have been decided to own just three perfect watches in my collection, I am now trying to come up with few choices for my third watch.

1. Patek Philippe 5396r
2. A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase

Some pictures i found on internet.

Lange 1 Moonphase in Platinum, and it isn't even close for me.

The Lange 1 in Platinum, BLRO in WG, and 5712r would be one heck of a PM trio!

I almost bought the 5396G, but it sat very odd on my wrist. It was not comfortable at all and glad I didn't move forward even with the 25% discount.

I love ALS. Check out the time zone. Similar to the moon phase but even more sublime.

ALS if you don't already have a Lange, otherwise the 5396G is a great reference.

5396 for me. I prefer the older layout for the L1MP with the moon in the lower right.

Edit: didn't see the 5164 snuck in there lol in that case I vote for that as I prefer sport.

So far i think 5396r have more useful complications, the dial look a bit too boring but clean.

Asl looks elegant, dials look amazing but lack of functionality.

Tough decision!

I didn't go for 5205r because they are too thick plus small.

The reason i put 5164 in there because its my first Patek dream watch, i didn't buy it due to i bought a Rolex BLRO.

The 5396 would be my choice only after seeing it on my wrist.

Isn't the 5396r case smaller than the 5205? The Lange is also 38mm. I think 5905P would be perfect for your large wrist. Or be patient and wait for the right watch. Good luck!

Now that's a tough choice in my book. On a 6' inch wrist that Lange might wear a bit large. It depends how you like your dress watches to wear.

I just purchased the 5396G and love it. Pure Patek, clean, elegant, and with a sparkling white dial. I also debated long on the Grand Lange moon phase. Also an exquisite watch but I preferred the Platinum in the flesh as the blue moon phase really popped off of that dial. It is considerably more expensive than the RG. (Ended up going for the WG Black dial).

I found the RG Moon phase to be very dressy, with all the accents on the dial and lacking the brushed inner portion to the case like the Platinum. The 5396 is somewhat versatile too but it wears smaller and has a large polished bezel. I also own the 5205G and I find the 5396 might even wear a bit larger or at least feels somewhat more pronounced on the wrist because of the white dial and thick, somewhat flat bezel.

How'd they feel on your wrist?

Though I must say a trio of Lange, Rolex, and Patek is a fine one indeed.

Mine too. The Grand Lange fits me wonderfully and the Patek too in it's own way.

Here's a pic of the 5396G and Lange in Platinum together to give you a sense of how they wear.

I definitely could hear that. I love the way the Grand Lange series wear. They have great wrist presence with a touch of sportiness. Either choice is a good one though.

If you haven't seen both versions of the ALS together, here you go. (Darn, I forgot how much I like this watch).
