Server was hosed?
It looked like the server was all borked up for a while there, I hope it wasn't too hard to fix...

I was told that TRF had changed their IP address, or something. I kept getting those damn 404 messages!

Haven't had too many problems with the server over here. There was just a couple times when the connection would time out because the site would not load. Did not get any 404 message though.
It was strange because other sites would load pretty fast at the same time, it was just TRF that the computer couldn't load.

yeah but even this a.m. when i log on through aol, i keep getting messages about Apache is repairing this site......when i log on through internet exporer i get here????
best, dan Great Success ! Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content. ATTENTION! If you are seeing this page instead of the site you expected, please contact the administrator of the site involved. (Try sending an email to <webmaster@domain>.) Although this site is running cPanel, WebHost Manager, and Apache software it almost certainly has no other connection to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group. Please do not send mail about this site or its contents to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group. About cPanel: cPanel is a leading provider of software for the webhosting industry. If you would like to learn more about cPanel please visit our website at www.cpanel.net. Please be advised that cPanel Inc. is not a web hosting company, and as such has no control over content found elsewhere on this site. About Apache HTTP Server: The Apache HTTP Server is an open source web server which powers many of the worlds web sites. The Apache HTTP server is part of the Apache Group's many influential projects. Their efforts have helped shape much the world wide web, and they continue to be a dominating force in the web hosting industry. Last edited by unclesallie; 13 March 2008 at 08:41 PM.. The admin team had been monitoring a small increase in the amount of double posts along with isolated member reports of "forum freeze" or "go slow", even though we are on a very fast server.
Following dialogue between Steve and the hosting provider an IP change and other diagnostic procedures will be implemented as and when necessary to ensure the continued quality of content provision. In the unlikely event that further procedures may be necessary they will be implemented mindful of any member disruption. Please bear with us, however, should there be any further instances of site unavailability. You can be sure that it is all being done to get us to where we need to be. |

I'm glad it wasn't something more serious, I have a server myself, and I know it's pretty scary when there's something wrong with it.

You have to expect a few "hiccups" when you have so many thousands of viewers and posters a day... thanx for the good work again Steve and the gang!
