Hard choice.. Trading my 16610, but for which model from these two?
Hi all,
Here's my dilemma: Currently have a 16610 date sub SS 2003 which is in mint condition and fancy a change. As some may have read in my earlier post, I was considering an LV green face/bezel, but when I went to try it at the AD, it wasn't my cup of tea. The DeepSea however, has caught my eye! The AD tells me there's no wait on the sub 116610 or the DeepSea at present....perhaps not the best sign? I've read in great detail people's opinion of it and realise it's really my choice as to whether I like it enough and can live with it enough to make the purchase.... I guess my worry is, I could purchase a new sub 116610 and be very happy as it's a 'safe' bet in my eyes, but if I buy the DeepSea will it ultimately lose a lot of it's value and be a bad buy (my current sub 16610 is now worth more than I paid for it in 2003!)? Thanks for the help, Im333 |

Either reference is readily available in my area so I don't see any signs at all in that.
One thing to consider,...you can always find a good deal on a watch. Can you find a good deal on being happy with your purchase? If the DS is the one that speaks to you cry once and be done. Happyness is measured in more that $$$$. |

The DSSD is a thick watch that with all the wight is not as comfortable as a standard Sub.

I'd maybe think twice & then again before getting rid of the sub

i just tried on a DSSD at my local AD, and it was massive. uncomfortably so. the thing sits about three inches off the wrist! technically, i think it's a marvel, but there's no way i'd wear one every day.

Keep the sub if you can, and wait a bit to get the other. You say it is mint then wear it as a daily watch and buy the DSSD as you "good" watch.

I think the DSSD is kind of trendy... you can never get hurt with the classics...
