Daytona Ceramic - White Dial Inquiry
Hello forum readers,
I have been calling Rolex AD all over southern California for the new Daytona. It turns out that each store has a VIP list with existing customers. Anyone know a way around this, or know any AD with extra inventory? I am ready to purchase my first Rolex with cash in hand. I will also travel anywhere in the country to purchase it. Thanks! Pete |

Bring extra cash.. I suspect they will be asking for premium.
Why not just wait till the hype has calm down then you may get a better deal. Good luck and happy shopping! Best, Jen |

Even if you travelled globally, I'm not sure where you can get it at retail.

I thought legit AD's sell at the MSRP of $12.4K? AD's such as Ben Bridges, Polachecks, Baron and Leeds, &tc..

If you didn't get on a list on March 16, it could be a long wait. I think everybody is ready to purchase with cash in hand, but there probably won't be enough to go around.

Unless you are willing to pay a significant premium from a grey dealer, you are looking at 2017 or 2018 at the earliest.
Best to get on a list ASAP (assuming ADs are still taking names). |

perhaps one way around it is spending a few hundred thousand dollars on other Rolexes then the AD may bump you up on the list or put you near the top? |

Better chance to go with grey dealers. Right now it's not about money at the ad. AD have to sell it at Msrp. The will sell it to the regulars with good history, it's kind of like a "gift" just like how the others SSDaytona use to be

If you are not already on the list, grey dealers and flippers are your best possible route.

Unfortunately, you're a little late and will likely have to wait if wanting to pay retail from an AD. Supply will be way short of demand for quite a while.

Super hot watch that is brand new and not even available in most AD's yet. Keep looking and you will get one. It may take a while, but nowhere near "years"...

This IMO if you are wanting to pay MSRP from an AD, you are probably looking at sometime in June of 2020 But as you say, you have cash in hand you should have no problem finding with the grey dealers as said above but I would expect to pay upwards of $3-5k over MSRP...Again MO |

Unfortunately I believe you're best course is to get on any lists you can, preferably with an AD you have a relationship with. Then wait maybe as long as 1-2 years.
Or cough up a premium of 2-5k depending on how soon you want it. Good luck

This post is so L.A. It's comical. The reality is that just because you want it and have cash, that doesn't make you special to an AD. It's a new, limited production, and highly sought after watch. Only 1 is known to have been sold in the world.
You have 3 choices: 1. Get on lists and wait a few years but pay MSRP 2. Go spend six figures with an AD and get them to jump you to the top of their list (in LA, probably more like $250k+ to even register as a VIP) 3. Pay 30%+ markup and buy one from a grey dealer There really aren't any other choices. |

I know it is ridiculous here in Los Angeles. Someone at a Polacheck's jewelry shop in Calabasas bought a gold Sky Dweller and platinum Daytona to get the watch first from the owner of the shop. So roughly $100K will get you to the top of an AD list here. I'll keep calling stores and hopefully get lucky on a list somewhere! Thanks all for the feedback and information. Have a blessed week! |

Yeah, a bit late.
To my understanding AD's can't sell over MSRP due to Rolex USA rules. Either pay up when they come on the secondary/grey market or put your name on the list and wait.

You have to wonder what percentage of Rolex owners frequent this an other forums - very small I'd guess. So there could be quite a few that have sold worldwide, it's just not posted about.
