Wow you guys are amazing. The dial looked suspect to me but the movement looked like a real Rolex movement to my non expert eyes. Great job folks.

May God deliver us from the tooth of the tiger, the venom of the cobra and the revenge of the afghan. And now we have to add: and the Polex of the Chinese.

I am grateful, though, that the wrote 2160 on the caseback.

I agree...the fact that they engraved the movement means they know many will open up to see what's in there...many would be fooled by that. Heck probably lots of us.

I am new to the forum but amazed at the level of (superficial) quality that these fakers can achieve.

With the tireless work done by members to uncover / expose / denounce the fakers and their evil wares, maybe Rolex should make a contribution to the forum? I suggest a sponsored barbecue in a convenient location! Now that's another issue..............

There are 3135 clones already where the hands turn in the right direction when you turn the crown. That's not necessarily a giveaway of a fake anymore.

All Rolex movements have a serial number different from the case number. The serial is visible on the "outside frame" of the movement, just by taking the case back out. I would say its rather easy to replicate. I ignore if there are additional anti-counterfeiting elements "inside the movement" as you state, or elsewhere in the watch, but I'd bet there are, in contemporary watches. Those will be known only to the RSC and will help authenticate beyond doubt.

Same with luxury cars, backup VINs are hidden away inside the car, in case the "visible" VIN under the hood is erased or modified. And no, I don't know where those are in a Merc.

By the way we don't "buy fakes" here. You are in the wrong place and in the wrong company if you are looking for one, and I'm afraid your membership will not last long if you keep asking that type of questions around here.......
