Hollow end link “fix” on Neo Vintage Rolex?

What’s the best solution to “close the gap” on this hollow end link?

Can a careful “pinch” get the end link fitment to be closer to the watch case…or would it be better to replace the link / spring bar?

Thanks!

First thing is to make sure that you have the correct end link for the reference. Then you can experiment with adjusting the end-link and using different diameter spring-bars.

Thanks.

When you say adjusting, you mean pinching?

I hadn’t thought about spring bar diameter. That’s interesting.

I'm assuming the endlink is correct and the springbar is correct and in good condition. I would use nylon-tipped pliers to gently pinch the endlink. This can be done while the bracelet is attached but you may have better results detaching the bracelet first.

Ah. Interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.

These are 557B end links on a 2002 Y serial… I hope those are correct.

Often the "fix" is to slightly bend the batwings on the backside to rotate that case contour in closer to the case.

Pinching, over time, results in a flat endlink that looks sunken into the lug.

The true fix is to replace the worn tube inside the ends or sleeve the spring bar as the problem is often wear and a too much slop between the tube and bar.
