Dress Shoes...

How do you guys clean and take care of your expensive shoes? I'm just getting into higher end shoes, and want to know how to properly store, take care of, clean and polish my shoes

Make sure you have shoe trees and use them whenever you're not wearing the shoes.
Never wear the same shoes two days in a row
I use Berluti shoes creams but I think they're made by Saphir. Excellent conditioners and polish

Shoe trees. Never wear same pair two days in a row. I have, and have used saphir cream/conditioner, but drop them off at a trusted cobbler every so often.

Some great points have been made so far.

However the key is less is more when it comes to shoe care. Use it when its needed but it's best not over use any product on your shoes.

I not only make sure shoe trees are used, but I use the dust bags when shoes are not being worn for a few days as well. I generally air them out for a day after wear first however.

I also brush them off after wearing before storing, Some people wipe them off with a damp rag.

Cream polish for everything except the heel and toe because these are the areas that flex the most and wax would tend to crack there. Wax on the heel and toe. I tend to use conditioner when necessary and neutral cream unless a scuff needs to be addressed. Cream polish will tend to leave more pigment behind as its soaked more into the leather than wax so this is why colored pigment is used only as needed.

Bick4 as a conditioner is my favorite but I tend to use Saphir creams and wax. You'll find others using various other products.

^^ Agreed. Very good advice. I always use neutral unless necessary to fix a scuff.
