Should I?

Hi!

I have a 5712/1a, 5168g khaki and a Rolex Explorer 40.
Tempted to trade the green towards a 5164a.

Thoughts? I would get some money my way.

Thanks!

There no wrong move here...

If that what you want, then go for it...

Cheers,

If it’s all a market trade, no money to be made or lost, then it’s a pure decision about what you like more. Therefore, I say go with what you like best for me, I wouldn’t do it

5164A wears so much better and has an amazing complication.

I would definitely do it

Yes. The 5164a is in a different league for me. Useful complication, more versatile color dial, feels great on the wrist, etc.

Yes straight trade 5168g plus cash your way for a 5164a. Hell yeah unless the travel time is in horrible condition

Assuming money is not an issue, I wouldn’t do it. I find the 5168g khaki green very special and distinctive. It’s entirely your call though

Have both. 5168G is more special. I travel all the time so 5164a is really useful. If I didn’t, I might part with the Travel Time.

Totally a personal preference but it doesn’t seem like you find the 5168g as special as others here. I own a 5164a and it’s an amazing watch, I like it much better than the 5168g which does nothing for me. Highly overrated imo

Definitely worth it. 5164a is prob has most coolest/useful complication on aqua and easy wearing. Sucks they discontinued it. In steel is the best version.

Go for the 5164a. It's my favorite. The dial depth gives it a very different look from the 3-handed ones and with a useful complication.

My thoughts for not doing the trade.

5168 is really different than the 5712. Different color, gold and larger.
A good duo. Plus I feel the green is cooler, something different and maybe rarer.
Plus the datewheel on both the 5712 and
5164 are the same.

But something drags me towards the 5164. I do not know why.
