PAM 88 Discount?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy my first Panerai (have only bought Rolex in the past but fell in love with Panerai as of late) and have decided on the PAM 88. I was just wondering, do AD's typically discount that Panerai model? If so, please do feel free to PM me if you know of one. Thanks in advance, Eric |

I believe the rule of thumb with Panerai is similar to Rolex, if it is a gold or limited edition (pricey) PAM, then they will give you a discount, but on the normal SS models PAM 88 included usually are not discounted, I have heard cases where the AD will throw in a free strap with the purchase (usually a $150-200 value). Other than that, perhaps if you buy multiple PAMs from the AD they will possibly discount.

Might be able to get a small discount on the 88, this is a fairly high production number piece.
At least get a few OEM straps thrown in.

Doubtful, there is no need and if Panerai found out someone was discounting they might pull the line per someone high up in panerai food chain not just AD. There are just to few watches with high demand. Lets face it as successful as Panerai is it is not a huge money maker in comparison to other brands which produce many more watches.
They will however typically throw in some straps which softens the blow. |

You're gonna have a hard time getting a discount from your AD.

AD's are not allowed to discount Panerais or they will have the line taken away from them. Maybe you can get a discount from a gray dealer.
An autorized Dealer will throw in a Strap. which goes for arround 300 USD. As someone said, Panerai makes very few watches (compared to Rolex for example) and demand today is high! The 88 is a very sought after piece, I have never seen one on display at ANY AD, I have been to Vegas, NY, Houston, Chicago, San Diego, etc. These move quite fast even tough they make about 3000 every year. I would say each AD will get 2 max 3 of these a year. You have to consider that those 3000 pieces have to be distributed all arorund the world!
