Riddle: Explain the story

After reading Frank's tractor riddle, I thought I'd post one too .

The riddle:

There was a man who had no eyes.
He went out to view the skies.
He saw a tree with apples on.
He took no apples off, yet he left no apples on.

Please explain.

Hey, it was difficult for my students ........but then they are second language learners and don't differentiate between singular and plural in their native language

Is this one too easy?

What do you call cheese that isn't yours?
