For Rolex to be fifth in that list is very impressive given how narrow their product range is in comparison, and that most of its products are geared towards men.

Thanks. Great article. And thanks some more! I was in there watching videos. I loved the Jack Nicklaus and the Spike Feresten ones the best.

Have you looked at the number of DateJust models on the Rolex website? I'd say half of them are ladies models, and there are a lot of them. But yeah, for numbers of different models I'd agree with you.

How is Louis Vuitton the number one luxury Watch brand? I didn't even know they made watches.

It's just luxury brands period, not straight watches. Rolex is the highest pure Watch manufacturer on the list.

$8.5 Billion is a pretty high value company, especially for a privately held one.

Not sure I agree with this report, especially on Louis Vuitton. The parent company, LVMH, has a total shareholder equity of around $26B, which is where they are valuing the brand.

But LVMH is not just Louis Vuitton, it is a family of brands including Christian Dior, Dom Perignon, Bulgari, Hublot, Tag, Moet, Zenith and many other brands.

This is their total luxury market; for many of these watches aren't their major focus, This is the list of the most successful companies in the luxury market (whatever that entails).

Great article I don't see how they can say Apple in the same sentence as Rolex when talking luxury watches its literary comparing apples and oranges

My wife could've had a Cartier but decided(quite rightly) the Rolex was a better watch and better value in all respects.
Other than that her prefered Rolex sang to her like nothing else we looked at.

And 73.6% of all statistics are made up.

Big fan of various Cartier watches and the Lady Datejust for women. The latter is very popular as of course are Cartier.

If you search Google for "ladies watches Rolex v Cartier" you will find lengthy debates on ladies fashion forums and something called "purse blog." Seems to be a balanced debate, but if there's any consensus it's "both."

The top 10 is about Luxury, not luxury watch.

Why number 1? Because every woman loves her LV!!!

As some are priced below $2k, many a lucky woman can call one her own.

Thank you gentlemen if you gifted your wife/gf with one. Thank you!!!!

Right. And that part of my post was obviously tongue in cheek.

But do you not think your statement is "about right" or that at least "a lot more women prefer Cartier"? If not, then what was the purpose of your post?

My feeling was Cartier sales were 6 to 4 over Rolex ladies a few years ago, now I think it is 6 to 4 the other way; the brand equity of Rolex has really risen in the past couple of years.
