New MacBook line up

Anyone upgraded yet ? I'm tempted by the new 15" Retina Display Pro / SSD, reviews so far claim it to be hyper fast & not much bigger now than an Air....

I have an Air from Xmas & love it. I may be tempted to upgrade if/when a 13" MBPro comes out w/ the Retina display.

The new models look great!

$400 more for the retina display is steep to me. And the keyboard's all-glass button surface may throw some fast typers. iPad users might not care but touch typing could be a drill.

Although they incorporated gestures for the touch pad, I wish they made the retina display an active input device so users could interact via screen and touch pad.

Ordered a 15" MBP Retina w/ SSD a few days ago. Should be delivered sometime in July (I customized it with more RAM and more SSD storage) so it's going to be a while for me. Bought it mostly for travel and sitting on the couch around the house as I use a tower at home and at the office.

From what I've read it's still pretty heavy vs the Air, but I'm coming from a 15" MacBook Pro so the weight savings and bulk reduction will (supposedly) be noticeable. And the Retina display is supposed to be amazing. I upgraded from an iPad 2 to iPad 3 w/ Retina and the difference is subtle but noticeable.

We badly need to upgrade both the Macbook and the Ipad (I), but ... we wait...

In all honesty the retina display is fantastic from what I've read and seen. Only problem with it is if you get the standard one which is 2200 I believe and you want to play games on it that are somewhat graphically intense that the base model can't handle it.
There are so many pixels on that screen that the graphics card which is the nvidia 650T If i do recall that it just can't handle the retina display. From my understanding the higher end model can handle gaming and rendering on it without a slow down at all on the retina display.

Now if you're just doing basic things on it like viewing pictures and watching a TV show or something then I don't think you will ever have a problem with the retina display and the graphical power that it needs to power it. Hope it helped at all I love my macs =) and plan on buying one with the retina display when they pump up the base model specs a bit. 2700 for a laptop is a bit steep which currently is the only one with enough juice for what I do

I have a 15" macbook air and really like it (using it now actually). I just don't see the need for a retina display at that price.. I'd rather have the 13" model (if/when) anyway as it's a better traveler. I had a 15" macbook pro before and it was HEAVY. I hope they've dropped the weight considerably on this new line.

I agree about the weight. The weight is what steers me away from the 15". The 13" is already a hog in my briefcase.
