HELP! 1916 vintage????
can anyone help, i have a 1916, rolex which i know little about, apart from, its inherited, its a ladies rose gold 9ct, gold regency spring strap, 15 jewel wind up, i need some advise, its not winding, winder goes round, but no ticking, ive been told it could have been over wound?? and glass is broken?? any one recommend a watchmaker?? is it worth getting repaired??? thanks

mine is the same as the one on the right, but a bit more worn, cracked glass......

If I had to guess, a broken mainspring.
Don't know about the UK. Someone will be around soon. Nice piece, chief. I'd give that to my old lady. |

its the 1 on the right slightly differant winder and face, its hall marked 1916, w&d rolex serial number 670692 Main spring broke eh?? i suppose that will be the most expensive component that could break, MAIN SPRING DAMN!!! i dont know what one is but it dont sound good, does anyone know whats involved with that?? rough cost?? thanks

Nope.
Mainspring is fairly cheap and should be changed with each service anyway. Have it serviced and you should be golden. But, I don't know of any watchmakers in the UK. Just stateside. |

thanks, i will search for a reputable watchmaker near me, what about a replacement glass?? are they expensive?? £100($150) is expensive to me, but i would love to get it all working and looking likke new, so i can let my wife wear it, sometimes,,
