Too thick...???

I have yet to see the Ed White in person...But based on some photos I have seen it appears very "Thick" for its case size...???

Yes, I know it's all relative and picture can easily mislead you...

But I'm curious to hear the opinions of those who own or have owned the Ed White...

At 13.7 mm its about a 1mm thicker than a Daytona.

https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-o...31130403001001

I find it wears well, due to the curved lugs profile and the articulated bracelet end links which allow the bracelet to hug the wrist.

The bezel does overhang the case profile a tough which might make it a cuff grabber, but I personally have experienced that.

Not the best photo, but it should give you the idea.

Oh my goodness, the side profile of that watch is remarkable! That style of crystal is certainly something to admire.

I feel it’s slightly on the thicker side but overall comfy on the wrist.

Thank you my friend

Its really tough to photograph but hopefully these shots help the OP.

The midcase is actually quite thin. The caseback is large and flat ... it almost wears like a cushion case (to me).

At 13.7 it's not a thin watch, but I certainly don't think it's overwhelmingly thick either. The case back on moonwatches tend to sink into the skin a little helping it to wear thinner than it's stated dimensions would suggest.

It is actually closer to 2mm thicker than a Daytona.

The watch feels bulbous in my opinion especially vs the Daytona which sits much flatter.

YMMV.

I thought the Daytona was 12.5mm thick. Regardless, sounds like its not for you.

Yeah it’s not really for me, not sure what to do with it. It’s important OP knows it’s definitely a thing.

The 116xxx 12mm now it think it’s 11.9mm, it’s part of the reason why the daytona is so special to me. It fits so well. The 321 ed white definitely sits tall vs this.

The current gen moonwatch sits differently on the wrist, for me much better.

It’s not as thin as a Daytona, nonetheless, it’s extremely comfortable and a true joy to wear.

I prefer how the speedmaster sits on my wrist vs the daytona. And prefer the speedmaster design vs the daytona 🫣

Prefer speedmasters over daytona, although having owned both, the daytona definitely felt slimmer, but not by an overwhelming margin.

I think the lack of crown guards take away from some of natural case taper of the Ed White, giving it a thicker look despite it on paper being slimmer than your typical 1861 speedmaster. Also the straight lugs don't seem to conform as well to the wrist compared to the twisted lugs. Just my 2 cents.

The speedmaster in general has a wider cylindrical look to it, whereas the daytona the case angles downward which gives it more of a slim profile (in addition to being literally slimmer than the speedy).

I agree with your 3861 assessment, especially the sapphire ones.

The 3861 wears so much slimmer on my wrist than the official specs would make one believe. It really wears incredibly close to the wrist. I own the hesalite and even that one wear very slim.

How thick is the Snoopy3? I heard it's close to 15mm with the animation on the back. Anybody can measure and confirm please? Does it wear better than a Daytona?

I feel Eddie wears similar to a submariner. It’s a non issue unless your collection revolves around thinner pieces and you favor them skinny girls.

I've never measured but Watchbox and Omega both say around 14.5mm which is similar case thickness to the 1861 Speedmaster.

Thanks, I did some research myself as well. Omega says 14,5 and both Watchbox and Hafiz on youtube say 14,8 mm. Truth lies somewhere in the middle I guess.

I doubt the snoopy is the same thickness as the 1861, considering the bevelled caseback and the animation on the back. 1861 never was close to 15mm.

Anyway, the power of these speedmasters is although they are ticker then Rolex sport models, they wear exceptionally well due to the case shape and the side profile. 14,8mm snoopy still wears and looks better then a 14,5 mm Black Bay Pro or a 14,6mm Black Bay Gmt.

I'm sure the Snoopy wears fine, like all 42mm Speedmasters. Even the 44,25mm Moonphase Speedmaster around 16 or 17mm thickness looks great on the wrist.

The Ed White 321 with his 13,7 is totally fine.
