Choosing btw models
I currently own a 14060m submariner and 36mm explorer. I have been interested in a gmt for a bit now and am ready to pull the trigger. I love the new root beer two tone, but the dramatic markup to 24k (ish) seems somewhat outlandish. I guess the question is how to we see this aging? Personal opinions of course, but do we see the new gmt root beer holding enough value to make it worth it? I also like the classic root beer and the classic pepsi. What would you do in my place?

If you like the rootbeer then go for it! It will always be classic like the old classic

Prices have dropped for new(ER) stuff. Vintage has been more resilient. Seems like a lot of stuff not selling or selling slowly. Purchase from ad is a no brainer. Vintage is something I would recommend finding someone you trust. If I were buying grey, then I’d wait personally. I think there will be further price reductions and it would appear that many of the prices are asking. I think sales prices are lower. Hope this helps.

What would I do? Since I'm not a fan of two-tones, I'd try to pick up a stainless steel BLRO. It's the ageless classic original GMT-Master's descendent.

I think it'll age horribly. But I think it's statyed badly.
TT isn't a good idea and the Pepsi is pretty timeless (although a 5 digit might wear closer to the watches you have already, assuming you like the way they wear).

If grey is the only way, then I'd wait until prices stabilize a bit and then pull. who knows when that'll happen tho.

I appreciate everyone’s input. My thought was also that the grey market prices were dramatic. There isn’t a ton of AD stock in the metro area I live in that I know of, but I do travel for work so I’ll see what I can find. I’m not really a lover personally if the old school pre reboot root beer GMTs, so I think I’ll go Pepsi if I can’t find AD stock in the not too distant future. Thanks for the advice!
