Help with my watch reference

Therefore I would like to your help about a watch that has been @ the family for over 40 years

I can tell its a date just however any idea on the reference number and which year of production ?

I believe it's probably a ref 1601. It's most likely from the 1970s, but to better estimate the date, it would be helpful to see the case serial number, which is between the lugs at 6 o'clock. You will have to remove the bracelet.

If you remove the bracelet you'll see the reference number between the 12 o'clock lugs and the serial between the 6. The serial can give you a rough estimate of the date of production.

Agree with Dan though, looks like a 1601.

And while you have the bracelet removed, take good quality photos of the numbers, so you'll have them for the future.
Move the iPhone back about 8", zoom in a little on the magnification, and take your time tilting the watch this way or that, to get the right reflection on the numbers, so they're sharp and readable. You can DO this!
And, send similar pics of the bracelet markings (they're on the flip-side of the clasp than the side you showed). You can date the bracelet, too - - and of course, they should match.

Nice piece, especially with the modification on the dial. Was this purchased in an Arabic country?
