In pictures: Steve McQueen exhibition

Not sure if the non UK guys will be able to view these pictures

Unseen photos of actor Steve McQueen, taken by his widow Barbara, are being displayed in an exhibition in London. Steve McQueen: A Tribute to the King of Cool marks the 30th anniversary of the movie star's death.

Anyway enjoy the pictures

I will admit; that was a cool dude. (Sorry, guy. "Dude" has taken on a negative connotation around here lately)

Yes Sir

I had the pleasure of being in a Motorcycle race with him in 1971
He passed me so fast on my little 125 Yamaha that I went off the path and crashed.....which tore off my clutch lever and bent the forks and hurt my ankle.
After the race Steve looked me up in the crowd to see if I was OK and signed
the Lake Elsinore race event that day and joked about giving me a Coors beer....I was 14.
He lived up to his reputation.

There's been lots written about SM since his passing, he lived a very full life, way too short though. The airplane photos were taken at his hanger at the airport in Santa Paula, just up near Ojai, where he lived in the later portion of his life. He indulged his hobbies from that hanger, planes, motorcycles, cars and rebuilding toy diecast corgi cars.
What a dude.
