In Korea - Good price on Explorer II?
I'm in Korea visiting family and just visited a duty free shop where I can get the Explorer II for about $4600. I was just curious whether this was a decent price or if I could get a similar price from an AD in the States.

The MSRP for an Explorer II is just under $6400 now.
Provided that it's what it's claimed to be, the I'd say that it's a good deal. Having heard what I've heard about buying stuff in Korea, I'd be careful--very careful. Others may have better information.

It's a great price !
I was at the Lotte duty free shops the last time I was in Seoul (Jan 2009) and could not find such a good deal on a Rolex. The prices I saw were pretty much MSRP.

Any reason to believe the Duty Free Shops would have anything other than the "real thing"?

A friend of mine once bought a Rolex copy in Seoul. It looked really good, very high quality. I couldn't believe that he paid about £900 for it though.

Trigger pulled
So... the deal ended up being too good to pass up. $4300 plus $300 in instant credit (in the duty free mall).
I am now the proud owner of a 'V' serial polar Explorer II! |

Good job. I think you pick up the watch at the airport as you leave Korea. Am I correct?

How much would it set me back to send it to a RSC? Is this something an AD can/be willing to do? |

If you bought it at the hotel, and it is an AD. You can be rest assured that it is an authentic watch. If you bought it anywhere else, like a city market, then I would be taking it into an AD/RSC to authenticity. You have nothing to worry about. Post pictures when you can and congrats on your purchase. You definitely got a good deal.

No Submariners, Explorer Is or GMT-IIs. Both black and white dial Expy IIs. LOTS of Daytonas, DJs. Most of them blinged out with two-tone/gold/diamonds (which doesn't do it for me), but all at VERY nice prices. Be sure to get the VIP card... it's good for 5% off. I convinced the girl to give me Silver status right off the bat (good for 10% off).
