Rolex Prince

I don't think I've ever seen a thread discussing the Rolex Prince models. They don't seem to be very popular among Rolex enthusiasts. I'm curious as to why this is ?

I had a feeling it was because they didn't have the classic Rolex look. ie the oyster case.

I saw this model in person. Didn't get the excitement. Not impressed. It looks rather flat. Rolex image is far better than the actual product. BRAVO to the photographer.
Which explains why it is not popular among forum...

Cellini's have been discussed here and there on the forum, it seems like they aren't very popular but a couple of members do own them.

As for myself, I must say I really love the Prince. I think it's a beautiful timepiece that, alas, doesn't get the attention it deserves (in my humble opinion), I'd gladly wear one of those everyday!

The non-oyster case Rolex are not a favorite of mine. A Rolex, IMO, is largely about the toughness of the oyster case, and the Cellini's don't use them.

The Prince is a great looking, very heavy/solid dress watch, and they are much more impressive in person.

People don't like it because it is different - I think it's a charming and striking watch, well priced as well for an 18ct piece

I like the Cellini, its just there are so many other brands that do a tank style watch better.

My local AD has had one in stock for a while now.. I had a close look around it a couple of months back. Nice watch but I don't think I'd ever consider one to be honest
