Vintage Non-Chronos?

If you search the Fleab for "Breitling vintage", you'll get a lot of hits for watches that are not chronographs. Knowing that the chronograph has been Breitling's "calling card" for the company's entire history, and knowing what the chrono/non-chrono split is in the current line, I have to wonder: are all of those real? Did Breitling really make that many non-chronos 50 years ago? Or is someone painting a name on a Brand X dial?

There are some many reference numbers that are non-chronos... Richter's is a good source to research them. But beware of ones that come from Asia and particularly South America. Lots of frankens I'm afraid.
