Permanant link removed on Sea Dweller bracelet
Hi guys, I've just picked up my sea dweller from Rolex, St James in London. I dropped it off last week to have one of the permanant links removed on the 6 O'clock side. It now fits perfectly and the bracelet still looks like its naturally tapered. There were so helpful and did not charge me.

Luckily ( or not ) I don't have to remove more than a couple of links generally, but I always find it odd that most Rolex bracelets do not have more removable links to balance the clasp better for smaller wrists

Out of interest, I assume you got to keep the link but more importantly, did they say it could be replaced fairly easiliy if you ever decide to sell?

Can it be replaced by a non permanent screw-in link?

permanant link removed on sea dweller
I think the link was destroyed when being removed. You can add a removable link in future. I'm not sure if Rolex can add a permanant link again. I'm just happy that the watch fits me perfectly. I bought the watch to enjoy and am lovin it. My Sub C is probabaly a better all round watch with the bezel and clasp but the Sea Dweller seems to have that wow factor and history that makes me smile every time I wear it.

I have removed a perm link on my SD and GMT ll, and a Tutima. The clasps just do not center on my wrist unless the 6 side is shortened. If ever needed, an extra removable link can be added. Use this forum search for other threads on permanent links. If you are handy and careful with vise-grips pliers, it is easy to DIY.

Removed a perm link on my SD and it fits PERFECT. Yes, you can add a screwed-in link in place of the removed link in case you need to in the future.

I had the RSC do the same for me. It seems necessary for small wrists and all non-current Oyster bracelets to center the clasp. I have a 1996 TT Date that I may send them to perform the same procedure.
