Lost a pusher on my late 1960s pre-moon speedmaster... what to do?

Soo just this week I acquired a late 60s pre-moon speedmaster in fairly good shape that I have fallen in love with. While walking around downtown this week I stopped to check the time on my watch and much to my dismay the top (start / stop) pusher on the speedy was gone. I looked around but could not find it anywhere.

I've checked online and see that I can source the part for fairly cheap (its a 145.022) from ofrei.com. However, I am afraid I might need other parts or tools to install it (new tube? spring?, etc?).

I called some Omega dealers and they suggested it would have to go to Omega / Swatch for a service which will likely run me $800. The watch is not running at factory standars (its losing/gaining 9 seconds a day) so Omega would require me to take a full service.

Any thoughts on what options I might have? The watch has not been serviced since 1999 so it is due (though its still keeping decent time). Should I take the plunge and get the full service or is there a band-aid solution that can allow me to wear the watch and get a service in a years time?

Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions!

A few years ago I bought a couple of spare pushers for my 105.012 from Watchco in Australia. They have (or did have) quite a stock of vintage Speedy Pro parts.

But since it needs service, I would suggest you contact Nesbit's in Seattle. They are Omega trained and come highly recommended.

Any advantage to going with Nesbit's vs. having an AD out of Toronto (where I'm from) send it to Swatch/Omega? Or even going direct to Swatch (they have a service location here)?
