Pictures from Cebu Island (warning - lots of pics)

We just got back from our summer vacation spent in beautiful Cebu Island. Warm friendly people, no crowds at all, wife and the kids enjoyed our time at the beach. Here are some pictures, enjoy!

Excellent photos, Jason. Thanks for sharing. Your vacation was a bit more exotic than mine, I fear...

I especially like that marine sanctuary monument.

San Miguel!!! Best beer in the world!

Love your pictures. Which resort did you stay in?

I've been to Cebu before (when I was 7 years old!). Didn't know it's that beautiful. Would definitely visit soon.

Thanks MC1010. We stayed at the aptly named Shangri-la Mactan Resort & Spa. You can find more information here - http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/cebu/mactanresort

Lovely place, lovely people, just a great all around experience. It was HOT though.

Thanks Allan, Chad and JJ, I'm glad you liked the pictures, oh, and I took my Blue Sub diving with me as well, went as deep as 95 feet on the 2nd dive! Diving buddies were all wearing "sophisticated" Suunto dive watches and were too scared to dive with their TT Subs and YMs for fear of scratching it. LOL! I wore mine on the outside of my wetsuit.

I am planning a vacation and Cebu is near the top of my list. Was this a family resort or adults only type of place?
Did you fly in Manila and take a smaller airplane to Cebu?

Thanks

I would say, a good balance of both. The resort has a big enough area for everyone to have their own space and do their thing. It's a well managed resort. If you're into watersports, then this is the place for you. They also have a regular shuttle service that takes you to popular tourist, local shopping areas. We definitely love to go back!

We took the CX plane, Airbus A320-214, out of Vancouver BC direct to Cebu, with a short refueling stop in Hongkong.

Here are more pictures Larry...enjoy!

Cebu Photos

Stunning photos. Thank you for sharing.

My wife has relatives in Cebu. We should pay them a visit one of these days, for relaxation and San Miguel beer.

Ain't that the truth! Food over there was excellent, when we came back home I thought I had gained at least 15 lbs! It turned out to be only 3 lbs.

That's my kind of vacation, Jason. Hot weather, white beaches and clear blue water.

Can't wait till next summer!

You're welcome. We were there in July 2007 and the name of the resort is Shangri-la Mactan. Here's a link to their website -

Thanks again Jason. From your pictures the weather was amazingly clear and gorgeous considering July is one of the rainy months in that part of the world.
