So I received a little box today...

... and guess what was inside?

Description of pics below:

1. Nestled quite comfortably in its box, along with the solid case back and stylus.

2. A closer look - flawless design, perfect proportions.

3. What about the back? Had the sapphire display back installed at Henri Stern, to observe the lovely and enchanting CH 27-70 movement.

4. Obligatory wrist shot!

5. Final pic - the Rolex 69159 with a mother of pearl dial, all in white gold. Can't very well get a 3970J for myself without getting the wife something, can I?

Thanks for all your advice and support along the way, particularly SteelerFan65, FeelingTheBlues, myopiccoog and my "co-3970 hunter" Oryx for offering great tips and helpful encouragement.

I didn't think that I'd be getting another piece this soon. Heck, Oryx posted his thread about seeking a perpetual calendar chronograph only eight days ago. But I suppose if you really want it, you gotta have it...

That is one sharp looking watch! I didn't know PP will do customization of watches. How did you work that out?

Ah no, not customization per se

The 3970 came with both a solid back and a sapphire crystal display back. So I simply had Henri Stern swap it out.

I can't thank you enough.

I love, love, love the 3970, and I was looking specifically for yellow gold so this was simply perfect.

Wow. Congratulations. Great addition to your collection. It must be fun fun waking up in the morning and having to decide whether to wear the 3940 or the 3970.

Victor, I cannot tell you how much I love this watch! Not only is the movement incredibly stunning but you chose a case metal I particularely like and it fits you very well, many congratulations on that masterpiece as well as the beauty you bought for your wife!

P.S.: Thank you for the kind words you wrote about me, it's always a pleasure to discuss watches with you and read about your thoughts and purchases.
