In need of advice regarding 6536/1

Hello all,

First, I would like to briefly introduce myself. I've been a lurker for a while on both the vintage and modern forums here on trf. I've always loved watches since I was little, but really started to get into higher end watches about ten years ago when I discovered Panerai, and then inevitably progressed to Rolex which I now prefer. My first was a 16610 that I eventually traded for a 114060. I should be happy with it as its a beautiful piece, but I've had the vintage bug for some time now after having been inspired by so many of your beautiful pictures here. I started looking for a birth year 5513, but I found that I really prefer the aesthetics of the non-crownguard subs. About 10k is the max of my price range, and I really want to be sure I'm choosing one that's on par with what I can spend, so I've been doing my research as best I can, and found one that looks to be in good condition.

However, I'm still unsure about the originality of the dial. I've seen some examples being sold by reputable sellers where the text is entirely gold, but read elsewhere that it is gold and white, so I was hoping someone here could clarify this for me. The dial of the watch I'm considering is the gold/white text combination, and I've attached photos from the seller's site.

Any advice would be much appreciated, and I thank you in advance!

Maybe an original Rolex dial, but possibly not original to the watch.

pics are terrific .. but the dial in my opinion is 100 % reprinted ...
also some parts of the movement look odd ...

What about the gold tone of the bezel and crown?
I haven't seen that before.

If it was in that condition with an original dial and hands in that condition, methinks it would be more than 10K

@Lgear080 - I appreciate you bringing that to light. I had been so focused on the dial, that this element escaped me entirely.

@linesiders - Thank you very much for your opinion regarding the value, and I agree with you. The watch had been represented to me as completely original by the seller, and I just wanted to confirm either way.

These, if correct, would be a brass alloy. That appears to be worn through, giving a gold tone appearance.

That said, I have no comment on the originality of any of the pieces or parts.
