Which one to get: 5164 vs. 5712

So I had my mind made up on the 5164, and then I stumbled across the 5712 at my dealer today. Oh boy...now I'm confused on which to get. I recognize they are completely different watches/functions, but would be interested in hearing thoughts from the group.

As a reference point, I currently own a BLNR and SS Daytona.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I would pick the 5712. It is such a gorgeous looking watch, elegant and sporty at the same time.

Love both those, but just prefer the shape and bracelet of the Nautilus line.

Both are awesome! I would get which ever was avail at the right price and buy the other one at a later date! However, if you are only getting one then it would be a tough decision!
Good Luck!

I'd go 5164 and eventually add a 5711

Since you already have a GMT, the 5712 would be a great addition. That said I really like the 5164 too. Go with the one that you like best and add the other later.

If you'll use the GMT regularly than 5164. Otherwise the 5712.

It's really something that should be obvious to you--which one just feels more special and/or fit your collection better (in your mind, not ours)? Also depends upon where you go with your collection over the long term

If you dress up often, the 5712 may be a better fit for your lifestyle
Combination of dress/casual --> either
Only casual, need the 2 time zone feature and want an alternative to BLNR--> 5164

Personal opinion--I prefer the 5711 over 5712. I also prefer the Rolex GMT over 5164, so I'd say add a 5711 and have a beautiful trio with the BLNR and Daytona

Flip the two Rolexes, buy both the 5164 & 5712. You're welcome

I would go with 5712. Got mine little over month ago. I did try 5164, and it is stunning as well. Good Luck

In all likelihood I'll end up adding both to the collection at some point - but it will at least be a few years between the 2.

Both excellent choices. I vote for the 5712. Just look at that gorgeous blue dial and bracelet. The movement with the micro rotor ain't bad looking either

Also, the 5712 is more versatile, IMO.
