Hate it when this happens...

How do you feel when you see the occasional good deal on ebay...

I understand people need to make a living, but I don't like to see the hobby turned into a place to turn a quick profit, especially when no additional value is being added (this gent did not even bother cleaning/wiping the watch). Just my opinion, would hope good deals go to appreciative collectors. What is your take on the subject?

Should have snatched it up at 30% off 8500. Offer them 500 over what they paid. You never know.

How much value would a wipe down add? lol.

Yes, to all this.

And really the mark up isn't all that bad considering the guy is running a business. On top of traditional business expenses, selling high end timepieces is not an easy game. There's a lot of scammers and the seller assumes a lot of liability. There's real value to that (more than just wiping the watch down), and there's a lot of work that goes into it. Those are usually the top reasons I don't mind taking a hit when trading with the trusted sellers.

Maybe I lose some money here and there, but it's a lot easier than dealing with someone trying to file a paypal claim against me, or worse.
