LV Travel Case

Hi Guys,

I've been looking into getting a decent little travel case for my watch. The service pouch that Rolex give you just didn't feel good enough to protect the watch for me when travelling. And obviously taking the Rolex box is far too large. I wanted something that was good quality and would protect my watch in a compact form factor. After looking around, I stumbled upon this on eBay.

It comes in a really nice alcantara/suede finish which is very soft to the touch.

Theres a good gap between the top of the case and the watch, which is great if you were to drop it.

Sits nicely on the cushion.

The two sides are hardback and do a great job at protecting the watch.

Nice and compact size, compared to my Multiple wallet for comparison.

Overall I'm really happy with this item. It's finished to the high standards that you expect from Louis Vuitton as well as doing a great job at protecting the watch. I'm not the type of guy that baby's a watch, I have several scratches on my watch but it's nice to have a compact case to protect your watch for when you're travelling. It's also very reasonably priced, including UK customs charges it came to £65, which I thought was pretty good. Especially considering Louis Vuitton's three watch case is £540!
Here's a link to where I bought it.

Although the listing says used, it came in absolutely brand new condition with plastic covering, delivery from Japan took 8 days to the UK. It's not on the LV website but I'm assuming it's a product for the Japanese market and is sold with the LV watches or is included with the service of their watches. Either way, fantastic little watch case

Thanks for the review. I've been looking to purchase the same one on eBay as well!

Looks very nice but how can you be sure it's authentic? $70 for a LV product, seems too good to be true, if it's from the same seller I saw on eBay from Japan.

I agree, im affraid thats a reproduction. I've seen 5-6 different types of lv watch cases, they are all 3 watch roll type cases and the hard small box which is limited edition and retails for like $7000.

The LV watch roll that holds 3 watches is close to $1000. My wife was going to get me a custom 8 watch hardcase that starts at $7k. I didn't want one because there was no option for any to have winders as far as I know. I probably could have gotten a couple winder heads put in if I wanted. But watch boxes just doesn't interest me.

I haven't seen a single LV watch holder before. Perhaps it is a new item.

Even if it isn't authentic. It is a nice case to put your watch in for travel or storage.

For that kind of money it doesn't matter if it's real or not if it's functional and well made. I want one!

hopefully you don't use the same logic with watch purchases. There are major sections of this site dedicated to preventing and helping others not to get scammed. Watches or anything else it does matter.

You can't be selective in drawing a line in the sand concerning real vs fake. The replica market feeds on this selective rationalization.

Easy Tyler, it's just a travel watch case you drop in a suitcase. I'd still take it, LV stamped on the front or no. Brand/authenticity is extremely important in most cases. Not this one.

its "just" a watch to 99% of the population too. That was my point.

Every LV product does have a serial number on the actual item, if you can't find it, then unfortunately its fake!
usually the metal buttons have the name louis vuitton engraved, so if I were you I would be really worried...

My gut says it's a fake as never seen this at LV unless it's given as a travel case. Lift the flap and see if it has the LV logo and where made.

Crikey, I genuinely thought it was a product LV made for their watches, hence why it's not listed on their website and is being sold cheaper than a typical LV product. I do not condone counterfeit items in any way. I have sent a message to LV to ask if it's a genuine product. In all fairness though LV logo or not I think it's a great little case :)

Agreed. And I couldn't find a watch case being sold on the LV website and certainly not for $70. A genuine LV iphone cover costs $300. Most definitely a fake.

some people may think LV just slaps a logo on mediocre product, but that's not true in my experience. As far as I know LV only uses alcantara as an inner lining -- and the lining of my leather keepall is much smoother than what's pictured in the OP
