Going to Kuwait for a year and need a new Omega GMT

Guys,

I am going to Kuwait for a year and would like to purchase an Omega GMT. I need suggestions. Also it will need to be something that looks good on a NATO band as I will be installing it on one. Also it need to be waterproof to at least 100 meters. I love Omega's but just do not know them well.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have my Speedy, but don't need a Tachymetre as much as the GMT while there.

Talk to Fr. John (JMSROLLS). This is his Omega - absolutely stunning IMO.

Actually, on another thread Fr John said it didn't fit well for him, so he opted for the Rolex Explorer II. Isn't the Omega GMT white face discontinued? However, it looks great and there's a chance Fr John's AD can get one for you at a good price.

Richard,

Sorry we could'nt get a deal done but good luck in finding that GMT 2234.50 that you are looking for within your budget.

I sincerely hope you have a safe journey over in that part of the world and stay healthy OK?

Take care of yourself my friend,
Ren

The white dialed GMT is the best looking SMP in the line up IMO. I've owned four but none of them ever felt comfortable on my wrist. I finally discovered that my 7 3/4 inch wrist is too round and the thick case of the GMT will not stay centered. Nor does it slip comfortably under my shirt cuff requiring me to go with the low profile EXPII.

If yours is a smaller, flatter wrist, it should work.

I'm a big fan of the great white. However, nothing looks better on a NATO than a Sub, IMO.

Also, Omega makes a rubber strap to fit the SMP--might be worth looking into.

It's a very good watch and very accurate if worn every day. I like the black face, which I have on a DeBeer strap in this photo.
