Thoughts on trading 114060 for SD43?

Hey everyone-
Been tossing this idea around in my head as to whether or not it’s worth trading in my 114060 for a SD43. Right now my Sub is my one and only and my daily wearer. Not sure if it’s just the chase but I can’t stop looking up pictures of the SD43 and it’s perfect proportions. Things I like about the SD43 are the increased wrist presence, the date and the better proportions. However, it’s obviously quite a bit more expensive (roughly twice the price I’m guessing based on what I’d get for my trade and what the price point for the SD43 currently is. I was able to try on a SD43 a few months ago and remember thinking how much thicker it was than the Sub.

Anyways, just wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts were who may have done this already.

Looks good and it’s not bigger for your wrist!

I wouldn't. The Sub is the perfect everyday watch. I wore a DSSD for the better part of a year everyday, and the love affair dwindled over time. It just became too big and heavy. I wear a 114060 most days, and it's fantastic. Your mileage may vary, however, there is no way that I would make that trade.

Good luck.

Don’t do it! its way too big and heavy! I traded my SD4000 for one and really regret it! Your sub is classic !

They’re both really nice pieces.

I wonder if you might get more out of the sub by selling it as opposed to trading it in?

SS subs are in demand!

SD43 is not for everyone

However, to me, it appears u already made up ur mind and just need a little push. Hahaha

don’t worry about price. U won’t lose money. SD43 will hold value.. and increase faster in time vs sub no-date (imo) unless they discontinue ss no-date subC

If u can afford it, go for it !

It’s very well balanced and the new movement is amazingly accurate.
Haven’t adjusted the time since I got it over 6weeks ago.
None of my Rolex or omegas has been that accurate.

Thoughts on trading 114060 for SD43?

I’ve really wanted a 116600 for a while. No question I like it better than the 114060. The SD43 is too chunky to be my flagship piece, however it looks fine on your wrist. I think you should go for it.

I've had mine since July. I have an average wrist at 7". Definitely not too big or heavy. After about a week you will not even notice it on your wrist. My dad has the blue/SS/gold Sub and I saw him staring at mine it that tells you anything-

I traded my GMTc LN and haven't looked back!

Why:
- I love the wider bracelet!
- The lugs are proportional to the bracelet/watch
- More presence/heft without being oversized
- Latest movement

I wouldn't do it, but I have a small wrist and love my Sub (although mine has a date). But I'm not you. How big is your wrist, btw?

Hard to say. I feel at home with a 40mm watch. I try to wear larger ones and they work but they just don’t seem as comfortable.

If you like big watch then SD43 is it and looks like it will fit you well...Otherwise hang on to that sub

The SD might be a good fit for you - definitely better for you than for me (mine is 6.33") - as long as the thickness doesn't bother you.

If green or blue aren't for you, then go for it, a 7 wrist should be fine.

I wear my SD43 almost daily on my 7.5" wrist, and couldn't be happier. :-)

I debated this when the SD came out. Was pretty close to doing the deal, but in the end kept my 114060. Do not think I would like the SD anymore than the 114060 so could not justify the expense.

Absolutely.

What I'd actually do is flip the sub for a bluesy or LV-C and add a SD43, but you didn't ask that...

Both are great looking watches, but personally I would stick with the Submariner for comfort and balance. Looks very similar from above, but the SD43 looks quite thick from the side. Good pictures BTW, gives a good visual comparison. Only you know what you like for sure. Good luck in your decision. Cheers!

For twice the price is it twice the watch? The sub is an amazing daily wearer. Keep it and maybe see what comes out for Basel.

I don't think I'd do it. From the couple of people I know with SD43, they say it gets a little heavy after a while. Wouldn't be my pick for my "one and only."
