Any of you guys have only 1?

I’ve been wearing my one and only since I got it. I can’t imagine that will change anytime soon.

But because I like it so much, I’ve been looking at adding another. I’m smitten with both the 5164 and the white 5711. I’m even debating the white 5726 as it’s similarly priced to the 5711 (you know what I mean) and I love the complication.

I’ve a lot going on in my life right now. And to be honest, I simply can’t afford another unless I flip something else. Which I don’t want to do.

Boy oh boy, I can’t ask a simple question without adding a whole back story.

Given my situation though, I’m mostly determined to just stick with this one for the time being.

All this said, I feel like a dope.

I have what is likely the most ideal watch for me, based on my own tastes.

It’s amazjng that I simply can’t just wear this till the end of my days. I would love to just be happy with this and every once in a while wear one of my others to mix things up.

Anyone here just have one Patek they wear daily and plan to for years or decades?

I started with one, now I’m up to 6 and have 3 on order.

I went for the white 5726 as I didn’t feel the 5711 was for me.

after wearing for 6 weeks, I am not worried about it being a daily at all. I have got a few nice scratches and one fairly decent ding. but they bother me not.

the watch itself feels like it will go through nearly anything with me....

wow. that is a lot.

I passed up a used white 5726 yesterday for 45k. It was sold moments later.

I have what appears to be a great 5164 opportunity, but I cant bring myself to move along two watches....

and I am kicking myself. I feel like I should be quite happy with what I have.

I would not get another 5726, go for a 5711 white if you can get it.

Well, I went from one to four in a couple of years. Nothing wrong with the way you feel (all part of being a WIS). I'm thinking of trimming down to 3 Pateks. I still have my Rolexes to keep me happy.

So I just passed on a 5164 as I just can’t bring myself to pay that much money for a SS watch on a rubber strap that can’t be adjusted once cut. I mentioned this before in another post.

Some people buy 2 straps, one for winter and one for summer.

Also, it’s just not a watch I would wear while at the beach or swimming. I know some people do, but I don’t see myself doing that with the Rolexes that I have, that can take a beating surfing and doing all the other stuff I do.

Yes it looks nice and the rest, but not for that much money.

Did you try the 5164 on? Did you like it?

Why don’t you look at a 5524G...it’s white gold, has the travel time complication and you can do rubber, leather or whatever strap you want. It’s basically the same movement with, in my opinion, a better case and dial.

I know I’m going to get a lot of heat for this post but it’s just not for me.

You’ll need another one when the 5726 is at HSWA for its routine spa service, which can take up to 6 months. Therefore , two is better than one!

And I agree with the above. I’d get a 5711/1a white dial instead of another 5726 with a white dial.

Good luck deciding which way to go.

great feedback and thought process.

it is the travel time I am interested in as I am traveling a lot more these days and doing a lot of business with the west coast.

I agree that I would likely wear one of my Rolex watches when doing anything very physical. but the 5726 is likely going to be my typical daily.

I also agree completely about not being able to adjust a watch that was cut. I agree with the thought process. it does bug me....

agree and I have thought about this dilemma.

I do still have quite a that I really like a lot.

and my Omega boutique (and I absolutely love Omega) just confirmed it can get me a Sochi panda dial speedy. Only available in the East as far as I know.

so while I will miss my PP while at the spa, I do figure, I can suruvive.

Tough to stop at 1.

I know you dont want to sell your other watches... we’ve all been there, but at some point you may have to decide on how you want your collection to evolve.

I think a lot of the comments are saying what I was saying. I wouldn’t wear my 5970 to the beach , for that matter I wouldn’t wear my 5712 to the beach either.
Certain situations are just too tough for a PP if you want to keep them looking good.
If you have more you can rotate them and keep them looking fresh!
As for the 5164, I let mine go a couple of weeks ago. Great functionality but not crazy about the rubber strap, I’ll save that for AP.

Someone's got the bug.....glad I'm not the only one.

Enjoy the journey IMO, the waitlists aren't going anywhere and it's easier to focus on other aspects of life as well instead of always chasing. But I know exactly how you feel....once you get your first taste of Patek it's hard to not think about "the next."

I wear the patek daily. The more I look at it the more I admire it.
I don't want any more. If you listen closely, they all have little voices saying "wear me! It's my turn". I don't need the aggravation.

Got it. That makes sense.

I did wear my 5726 to the beach and it was a great companion. But I get where you are coming from.

I think I’m okay with it getting dinged up. But I’d not wear it for manual labor. Whereas I’d wear any of my Rolex’s for that.

I’m a rubber strap fanatic. But the inability to adjust the aquanaut strap doesn’t sit great with me.

you'll get over the perceived notion/annoyance about the rubber strap on the 64. i got my 67R, sized the strap and perfectly happy.
simultaneously, the 11 in white would be a great addition.

my prediction is that you'll inevitably end up with both!

oh... and sochi shmochi!

The problem with multiple Patek is at least for me I always want to wear the best one. So the others sit in the safe. I found I’m more of a user than a collector. You really don’t need to own them all to appreciate them.
