Rolex DD2 218206 ice blue dial platinum vs DD40
Probably discussed before but I want to know how owners of the Rolex DD 2 ice blue platinum 218206 like the watch compared with the platinum DD40.
I have a RG 228235 and am now interested in a 218206 ice blue dial. Anyone has both DD2 and DD40? I noticed some used 218206 priced relatively low at around 40k compared to its list price above 60k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't have both, but I've had both. I really like the proportions and looks of the DD40 so much more.

I have tried on both several times and almost pulled the trigger on the DDII ice blue dial. However I have to agree with the above poster that the DD40 has the better proportions and at similar price points, the DD40 would be my choice. I think both CNA be purchased in the low 40k's on the secondary market.

The proportions of the 40 are superior to my eye

Even though I'm a huge fan of the Datejust II, for some reason I never really felt like it worked on the DayDate II. Not sure why.
So I like the overall look of the DD40 better. However, if you prefer larger watches you may wind up liking the DDII more. Depends on what you are looking for. DDII has a larger sporty look while the DD40 is more dressy/elegant and refined. |

I just saw a DD40 Platinum for about 42k from one of the trusted sellers, so I don't think there's much of a price difference. I do agree the DD40 has slightly superior dimensions though.

IMHO, Bezel on the DDII is too big and out of proportion to the dial and case size
