5711/5712

Was looking at watchpricr trends.... looks like the 12 is the only nautilus still moving up? And the 11 is stable. Any thoughts as to why? Or maybe that’s not accurate.

Was looking at GMT’s and others too but the 12 jumped out at me

Separately what happens to the interest level of dress watches when the nautilus slow?

I have no idea. But I did picture the 12’s power reserve indicator moving up.

I’m going to be honest. A lot less than I am now. I don’t enjoy losing money on anything in my life.

assuming the cause of the slow down for nautilus will be the economy, then the whole market will slow down. I would predict proportionally across current interest in sport and dress with sport taking drops from the irrational current highs but dress dropping from msrp. So folks will perceive different things...but I'm pretty sure that in that eventuality, many will be very surprised at just how many watches are out there of all the current hard to find and long wait listed models...

Thanks for the honest answer. Just curious as you seem very interested in the price action which is fine. Everyone has a different reason to be in any hobby I suppose.

The drop already occurred more on the dealer side. I expect a strong rebound and finish to the year. Just my 2 cents.

If Patek was sold to Walmart and the 5712 retailed for $3500, i would still want it. If anything the value over msrp is a huge problem for me. It prevents me from getting watches i really want.

Looks like a temporary blip, and the 11 is rising again. Good timing for that recent Hodinkee article!

The £100,000 5712 can't be far off. There's one at £91,747 at C24 today.

I think a lot depends on when you've joined the market, same for Rolex, if you've come in the last year or so then this is the norm, and falling prices are not and are to be avoided at all costs.

If 5712 gets discontinued it will definitely be over 100K. Look what happened to 5726/1A and they weren't even that popular.

Crazy how the 5726 skyrocketed when discontinued. The 5712 will definitely be over 100k if it gets discontinued.

:)

I’ll buy less nautilus’ yes, but I’ll probably still buy a ton of watches. Maybe I’ll get a chance to buy a few Rm’s :). I’d like a 11-03 and a 35-02

Also I heard there is going to be a series of P-0x Tudors. So probably try to get the p-02,p-03, P-04

I’m told that the 67-02 is next for me, but I’m hoping the market collapses in China/HK next few months and I get offered a 11-03 instead

5711A has been hype up to 80 plus and now its the 5712A becuase people suddenlybrealised that between the 2 the 5712A is a better watch because its is a complication with power reserve and moon phase . At that pricing why pay 90 plus for a 2 hand watch
