Larry McMurtry
Another tough one for me. Hadn't read all his books but definitely most.
Don't think I've ever enjoyed a novel more than 'Lonesome Dove'. He spent a good deal of time in Tucson and I was lucky enough to have met him once and shared a short visit. Rest in Peace Mr McMurtry, and Thank You. https://www.dallasnews.com/2021/03/2...ry-dies-at-84/

Rest in Peace Larry. Lonesome Dove is the greatest western film ever bar none thanks to his original writing. The Streets of Laredo is a great read as well.

I was of the opinion that I should read at least one Pulitzer Prize winning novel in my life. I don't know why I thought it was important, so I chose Lonesome Dove.
I really got involved in these characters' lives, such is the magnitude of the story. I've read it twice. So I guess I've read two?

Very sorry to hear. Lonesome Dove was the first real novel I ever read. I was in 6th grade and somehow picked up a copy.

RIP. I consider Lonesome Dove to be a literary masterpiece. A few of his other works are also really good but have to live in the shadow of LD. His son James is a fantastic song writer and performer too.
