Larry McMurtry

Another tough one for me. Hadn't read all his books but definitely most.
Don't think I've ever enjoyed a novel more than 'Lonesome Dove'.
He spent a good deal of time in Tucson and I was lucky enough to have met him once and shared a short visit.

Rest in Peace Mr McMurtry, and Thank You.

Rest in Peace Larry. Lonesome Dove is the greatest western film ever bar none thanks to his original writing. The Streets of Laredo is a great read as well.

Sad news.

Lonesome Dove is my all time favourite book (and a wonderful miniseries as well!)

I was of the opinion that I should read at least one Pulitzer Prize winning novel in my life. I don't know why I thought it was important, so I chose Lonesome Dove.

I really got involved in these characters' lives, such is the magnitude of the story. I've read it twice. So I guess I've read two?

Very sorry to hear. Lonesome Dove was the first real novel I ever read. I was in 6th grade and somehow picked up a copy.

RIP. I consider Lonesome Dove to be a literary masterpiece. A few of his other works are also really good but have to live in the shadow of LD. His son James is a fantastic song writer and performer too.
