5980 with custom band. Thoughts?
I thought I’d share this with you guys. Just got a custom band made for my Tiffany dial 5980R. Let me know your thoughts.

What are the details of the bracelet? Looks a bit on the thin side.

just out of curiosity was it not possible to buy an authentic one and have the end links modified to fit the case?

Unfortunately not. I tried a few times and got denied. I also tried to buy the actual bracelet and then have a modified end link made for; didn’t have much luck here either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Details on the bracelet and the maker please?
Is the bracelet 100% custom or is it a modified factory bracelet from another model? Any pics of the clasp?

Complete custom in solid gold models off of the original. Clasp is identical to original with all
Correct markings/indentations; I’ll add a clasp picture later. Patek will not sell bracelets, so the only option is to h e one made. |

I compared it to an original 5980R on bracelet today. The only thing that I could see was the step down on the end link where it connect to the case. Unless you’re looking for it, it cannot be noticed. The jeweller did an amazing job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ok I’m just gonna go out and say it. The clasp has both a logo and the trademark on it. How is this different from any fake/franken watch except for the dollar value being an outlier? Not saying the OP has committed any crimes here (if anything the jeweller) here but I find it highly inappropriate that a jeweller agreed to make this.
To the OP: congrats and if this is for your own use and not intended to deceive then it’s all fine, but you might wanna rethink posting this bracelet online. |

Looks very good. I think most love a strap change and if Patek don’t want to offer a bracelet for the model it’s no different to having a custom leather strap made. Enjoy!

If anyone could get and fit the original bracelet, sure. But a narrower bracelet wouldn't work for me.

I’m not looking to deceive, hence my openness. A bracelet, it’s simply a strap and nothing more than that. In my option it’s doesn’t take away from the glory of the watch; which is 100% straight and genuine (papers etc.). The old straight can be put back on at any point. Looks great and Im glad to see you wearing it. The loudest critisizers of the bracelet probably wouldnt even let this beauty of a watch see the light of day from their pillow lined safe deposit boxes. Enjoy it!

Haha very true. If you have the cars, drive them, if you have the watches west them. I heard a crude expression I’ll share (at the risk of being taken down) - what’s the point of dating a hot model and not sleeping with her, you’d just be keeping her tight for the next guy. Same principle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Anyone who knows will know something looks off as this particular reference up until now is on a leather strap. Franken working a bracelet to fit may look OK to some, the same as a PaChinatek looks OK to some. |
