Platinum Deployant, White Gold Watch?

Hi all, I have a 5205g currently with the standard the tang buckle. Feels a bit light to me. Thinking of changing to deployant and my AD says can be either platinum or white gold. Anyone has experience with a platinum deployant with a white gold piece? Does it make the watch feel imbalanced or artificially bottom heavy? Thanks all.

Out of principle I wouldn't even think about mixing a grey gold watch and a platinum deployant. And then there is the different appearance of both metals...

I personally would stick with white gold to match the metals as the colour difference would drive me crazy :)

Good choice with changing to a deployant clasp regardless. I find tang buckle on such high end watches to be… very unappealing.

Thanks for the responses. Didn’t know there’s a big colour difference as I don’t own a platinum watch. For me the feel is the main concern. I want more heft to my watch which is why I considered the platinum buckle. Now having second thoughts though

Platinum Deployant, White Gold Watch?

Would definitely go white gold for reasons mentioned above . On the wrist I don’t think you will notice much difference between the WG and plat deployant in terms of weight.

I wouldn't get a platinum deployant clasp for a 5205G. If you want to get a platinum deployant, you may want to look at the 5905P. It also comes with a tang buckle, but you should be able to order a deployant clasp for it.

I would imagine the price difference is also considerable. The platinum deployant for my 5905p was over £4K

You’d think they would come on one. I understand why some of the thinner pieces don’t but a 5205 should have one as standard. Good decision anyway!

I put a white gold on my 5205G and happy i did that. Like others, i'd stick with matching metal.

Great decision, did you order a deployant strap at the same time?

Thanks Russell, I ordered a black alligator strap. Will probably order a dark or midnight blue strap as well, but still exploring aftermarket strap makers

👌
Remember the measurements are different for a deployant 👍
