RG Daytona or RG Sky D

In a parallel universe, you walk into your local AD & your SA brings out 2 watches from the safe.

A RG Daytona Chocolate dial & a RG Sky D Chocolate dial - both on Oysterflex.

Which one do you choose & why???

Just for fun guys - interested to hear your choices & reasons why

the fluted bezel is dressy while the oysterflex bracelet is sporty, they do not match at all. i choose the daytona.

Dont forget the 12k difference in retail price! Daytona better value but I think that SkyD is a very cool piece with way more presence!

For SS models, both Daytona and blue Sky D are very popular but for PM models, PM Daytona is more popular than PM Sky D.

Is picking up both not an option?!

If I had to choose, the Daytona. Both are gorgeous pieces though.

As similar as they are I feel they are two different watches. Daytona can fly under the radar a bit but there is no hiding the shine from the fluted bezel on the skydweller.

Just for the record I know Rolex gets a lot of attention for there green dials but I gotta say the Chocolate is a close second IMO

The Chocolate Daytona, DayDate, and the SkyD are simply beautiful. That’s why I’ve been wearing out my A D for one more.

If the SkyD was on bracelet I would probably vote for that. The Oysterflex does not work with the SkyD at all as it is a sporty strap on a dressy watch. It looks bad. Easy win for Daytona here

would pick the daytona, skydweller is too big for me and too much bling for my style

The SkyD wears too large. And blingy. Like a huge datejust. The Daytona on the other hand…

I appreciate the movement complications in both. But easy vote to the Daytona here

I went against the crowd and voted SkyD. Why? Because without the mini glide lock, getting the right fit is nearly impossible, and with OF, fit is everything.

I've not seen the that SD in person, but had the Chocolate Daytona for a few years and really liked it. Sold it and wish now I hadn't (esp since it has appreciated a ton...). I'll tell you this, that Daytona got far more compliments than my SS Daytona or JC Deepsea. It really pops in person.

Daytona is a Daytona. But if the Sky Dweller was a more normal, wearable size, I think it would win out.

I own both a RG Daytona leather strap that I've put on a RubberB and a RG SkyD on OF, and I love them both. (Happen to be wearing the Daytona today.)

The objection to the SkyD on OF because the SkyD is not a sports model I find downright odd. Why is it any stranger to "down-dress" a dressier model like a SkyD with an OF strap than it is to "up-dress" a sports model like a Daytona with a full-gold bracelet? I don't hear anyone suggesting that the latter is incongruous -- because it's not. Nor is putting an OF strap on a SkyD.

Gotta go with the Daytona. More appealing to me. A fluted bezel with oysterflex doesn't do it for me. Much prefer the Sky D on a bracelet.
