New Dallas Rolex Boutique

Stopped by the recently completed Rolex boutique in Dallas this morning. An hour before opening and a line had already formed. Seemed most folks wanted a few of the same professional models, go figure.

Overall, I wasn’t that impressed with the interior design and layout. Maybe I’m spoiled by Hausmann & Co’s Rolex boutique in Rome.

That’s awesome. I live in Dallas. Knew it was in progress in the Highland Village but did not know the opening date was today. Good to hear that.

Were folks able to score some pieces?

Nice looking store. We are going to see new stores opening like this a lot with the new price levels on Rolexes.

I stopped by yesterday as well, had to leave early to catch my flight before I can get into the store. No professional models readily available, but there were quite a few Datejust up for buy. I saw folks walking about with 2, 3 green bags, SAs inside were taking notes but not sure it was to log down interest or something else.

Is it just a new store with an established AD running it? If so, the waitlist is simply the existing one for clients of the AD I'd imagine.

My AD is turning in to a boutique. It should be open soon, can’t wait to see it.

Yes, just some classic pieces available (DJ36s, etc).

Yes, run by an existing AD already in the area.

This one is operated by Bacendorfs which is an already existing AD with multiple locations here. They opened this one in Highland Park Village since De Boulle lost their license, so this area became up for grabs.

WoS in Plano will be building out a separate location for Rolex only at Legacy West apparently.

Who owns this one, Bachendorf’s?

Oops, you posted the answer as I was asking the question?

curious, given the reputation of WOS (good and bad), do you foresee yourself trying to establish a relationship with WOS now?

Unfortunately, if some Rolex boutiques in Europe see you dressed like this, they don't take you very seriously.

Looks like the lines in front of sneaker shops. Did they just roll out of bed?

Oh really? It's the thickness of the wallets that count. I've seen some "uncles" in HKG and Singapore taking out stacks of notes to purchase watches in shorts and sneakers... AD treats them all the same

That picture visualizes the current pathetic Rolex market actually quit well! The only thing missing is the word flipper spelled out on their foreheads

In every US AD I’ve ever been to, they don’t take folks dressed like this very seriously.

Doesn’t that apply to all luxury stores in Europe?

As a fun side note, I do remember the days before 2010 when that’s how they also treated poorly dressed mail and Chinese tourists. Compared to today where the service is top notch for any poorly dressed Chinese tourist in Europe. The world has changed quite a bit!!!

in Europe…well…let’s say…maybe they don’t treat you badly, but you can be sure…as soon as you’ll exit the store they will start joking about you…

That’s a shame someone in sales would be so uptight and judgmental in todays retail environment. You should see how casual what “real money” dresses like buying a $500k hyper car.
The customer is there to buy a watch, not a job interview or try to impress the retail sales workers.

I have found that depending on what watch is on a wrist will determine how “serious” the management will weed out the buyers from tire kickers.

I purchased my first DJ41 from WoS in 2018. I didn’t have any issues with customer service at the time. I already have my preferred ADs now, but will still stop by and check out the new boutique here by WoS locally once it’s open.

Oh 100%. I enjoy chatting with some of the folks, but it was obvious what their intentions were when some couldn’t answer basic questions (didn’t know what Glidelock was, etc).

I can only give my personal experience on this. Usually when I purchase my watches I’m dressed in casual wear (athleisure). Haven’t had any issues both domestic and abroad in Europe. Probably because I’m well versed and tend to know more about the product than the sale’s person. Also as Mystro said, depending what watch you’re wearing can also help.
