Prices are somewhat stabilising; people are buying

We all know prices globally have taken a dip over the past few weeks..

Seems to have stabilised/flattened out a little bit in HK for some pieces

Market stalled the past few weeks, but has started moving

For instance, end users are actually buying pandas at about $46-47k USD and godzillas at about $40k usd

So while some are holding off purchases for fear of it dropping further; it may actually be a good time to enter the market if you have a desirable piece in mind

The fear of it dropping further vs the fear of missing the boat before prices go up again

Not sure if prices go up. IMO I think a softening (think plateau) of prices is happening. Too much going on in the world.

Yes the black ceramic Daytona is commonly referred to as the “Godzilla”, at least in Asia

Back in my Navy days, it was...affectionately used to describe some new old stock frozen meat from the ... 60's, occasionally put out for consumption

I concur. Similar buying patterns in Japan.

LOL

Your talking a few weeks timeframe? Are you shorting or day trading or what?

If you look at prices over the past 3 months they have already been on a steady downward pattern. If your looking of a period of a few weeks why bother unless your actively trading the watches as commodities.

I'm part of 8 Whatsapp group trading groups and even more facebook marketplace classifieds.

Tonnes of ppl trying to offload at the moment. I posted yesterday BLRO BNIB 2022 sold for $25800 or so. Today a further 3 sold in the 25ks in various groups.

BLNRs are even cheaper now. Many many selling for $20k or under.

You got SS Panda Daytona's that dont move for $45k for months now.

I think its the worst time to buy imho. Market is only starting to correct. Bitcoin is down HARD!!! and interest rates rising and inflation through the roof.

The only asset class not really coming down is Real Estate and thats because its a life essential.

This is not just me. Look at all the major watch dealers on Instagram and other socials. ALL are saying market is correcting - well the truthful ones that didnt overpay for their pieces. HK/Singapore/Malay dealers are also being very very careful at the moment.

If I was a consumer I'd be very careful right now. Very very uncertain market at the moment. Ppl got the jitters especially all the speculators. I know guys that have lost nearly $100k on a 5980RG right now he's trying to offload.

The luxury goods markets are all under pressure from declining stock markets, rising interest rates, inflation and increased travel and pleasure spending. I think it is perfectly normal to see softening prices here considering the economic dynamics in play. A year ago, people were flush with cash and had nothing to spend their money on but luxury goods on their computers.

Asia markets are currently seeing buyers buying the Panda(dated 2022) at around $45k USD. Remains to be seen whether prices will still slide or stabilise in this range. But yes there are people buying.

Oh dear..."Godzilla"? How ridiculous using the name of a charming old deep sea monster for a watch. I'd rather watch the old 1954 Toho film again than look at photos of Seikos, "Grand" or otherwise. Here he is, working his bad-tempered way through Tokyo to wreak havoc on Seiko´s headquarters...
