I was wanting to add the last two Omega's to my collection. One this year. I guess I should get them sooner to avoid the increase in price. It would be equivalent to getting the tax free for me.

Is the 7% across the board? every reference I wonder. probably will affect parts cost as well. I am getting two bands as well.

Is that in the U.K.? I’d be surprised at this for Omega because they look quite expensive in GBP compared to USD already.

it's pretty crazy. let me put it this way.

the new speedmaster moonshine gold green in full pm was $34,800 when announced in March 2022.

it is now $37,900. if it gets bumped 7% that is $40,750. that means in 11 months and in the actual 8 months this watch has been out the price has increased 17%.

i am not one to tell omega how to run their business. i just dont see any world in which the buyer for this watch is paying $2k more than for a daytona.

if one says well these are more available for the average guy. nope - not true from my experience. and if they were more available i guess omega says the $2k premium over the crown is worth it?

give me a break. that said ill take a used ss 3861 over these at this point. it just makes way more sense.

As far as price increases

Everything is going up . Omega is still priced lower than Rolex.
As far as gold pieces , gold is going up and Russian gold is unavailable. Rolex went up disproportionally on their gold .
Watch out for precious metal pieces . Only going up

I for one am happy to see Omega prices go up. It makes the brand more exclusive / upscale, which it deserves. They should generally be more expensive than a comparative Rolex (better movements is one reason).

If you want a good value watch, go get a Seiko…

You have a point. My husband just bought an SLA057, it’s a GS with Seiko on the dial. He thinks its a better watch when comparing it to his WG Sub. Enough so that he is considering its partner the SLA055. The steel in those models is supposedly better than oyster steel. Looks nicer, brighter.

I was told by an OB it is a 4% increase with the Speedy Pro; $256 increase in the hesalite.

It’s inevitable for all imported goods so not a surprise. I will be interested if this is also true for the U.K. as (for omega), the U.K. MSRP is already higher than the US whether it’s considered in USD, CHF or EUR.

It was DOWN 20% from an AD in Scotland just yesterday. Looks like someone got a bargain.
