Selfridges offering bundles to walk ins!

Selfridges had multiple PM models for sale last week. SA told me if I buy them I walk out with any sports model I want (pepsi, Green sub, batman or a sub date).

The PM models were in the range of 30k to 80k if I remember correctly.

She told me things are really slow at the moment. She also mentioned waiting lists for some models have been exhausted!

What does some waiting lists have been exhausted mean? Too many people on them or no one on them?

From context i think he means that they are empty and all sports models are available for purchase if you buy a PM.

That's what was told to me in a Goldsmith's branch two days ago, as I posted in another thread.
They did not say they would give me a SS sports model if I bought a PM watch.
But they said they had rang everyone on the register of interest for the PM models and they all said no.

I’ll fly to London if that’s true. Have a SA you can introduce me to?

it's the Bucherer store in Selfridge, so you could really just ring them up and find out. Maybe give the other branches a try too

as a FYI there is no VAT refund these days for oversea travellers

Just to confirm, all Bucherer stores have plenty of watches in the back! Dozens and Dozens!

One thing is clear to me! They have difficulty selling PM references! 126715CHNR for example; I can't tell you how many ADs have texted/called me offering this piece! 18 months ago, it was a director approval/application piece! lol

This was the case circa 2019 pre-P, but all that went away after things went crazy. I can understand ADs bundling champaign DD36s for a sports model like a sub, but not PM Daytona with a SS Daytona.

Quite a suspect post from a newly joined member.
There is no doubt that the PM pieces aren't moving, that's been evident for months, it's not breaking news.

But I call BS on them telling you that you could walk out with those SS models if you bought one.

I see, Mr Package, I see. Enjoy your summer vacation from school, hopefully your parents basement is air conditioned, if it’s a hot one.

to be honest there are other posts out there talking about Rolex AD bundling watches, such as two tone Exp1 with a green bezel sub date, albeit this is an AD based in Dubai.

I bundled a snoopy 50 years anniversary last week in Mykonos at the Omega popup store, another friend bought a dj 41 black dial with diamond dot with no prior purchase history.

It's happening but dpending where you are, YMMV

I’m struggling to believe a SA would divulge the ins and outs of the stock situation with a random walk in

Saw a yellow Gold Submariner, and white gold Submariner in the case for sale at one of the ADs in the Arabian Gulf last month. Plenty of oysterflex and TT Skydwellers, also YM gold too. With the economic situation in the UK I believe the poster.

Just be aware that without VAT refund the UK is fairly expensive to buy a Rolex which I suspect is another reason we are seeing more
availability particularly for the heavy hitting full PM models.

Also I heard WOS has stopped selling Rolex and Patek to non UK residents. That was last year, not sure if it's still the case. This translates to more availability.

Not really, what the OP is saying is that now there are actual watches to buy on display which wasnt the case in many parts of the world, at least where I have been to in the last 2 years such as Tokyo, London, Sydney etc Now, it seems like in the UK we are seeing many PM models like a PM submariner or skydweller which is a step forward in the right direction for increased availability.

Year… for more than one year… still waiting for the PM pieces to revert to Pre-pandemic prices as some kept saying.

Would gladly consolidate my collection into several PMs.

Almost 5000 replies on the main thread reserved for this topic. And still my PMs haven’t showed up but I’ll be patiently waiting.

I could imagine a slowdown of rose gold models. That is a PM color that seems to come into style for a few years and then no one wants them. I recently had the opportunitu to ourchase a TT rose DJII with chocolate diamond dial on oytser bracelet but went with the TT YG linen color dial with diamonds instead. Tghe rose gold was strikingly beautiful but I have no other RG pieces to weear it with.

Now imagine how much a plain Daydate 36 champagne dial will be worth this time next year. I reckon at least 15-20% sub msrp.

To add to the OP’s point…. I was in London Jewelers last weekend and as a walk-in offered me a TT Skydweller. I cannot be 100% sure but if I had a purchase history, may have been able to walk out with a SS Professional Sport model.

Keeping my fingers crossed things are changing.

Lol.

I stopped by my AD (albeit in a very large US market) yesterday and and I can tell you there is no evidence of this slowdown. Literally a line to get in . Many, many tourists asking for watches…all turned away. Only one lady DJ in display case for sale.

TT SD is not and has never been a hard watch to get. Even at peak it was barely over retail on grey market.

It’s TT and very big, so a small market of buyers for that one.

Would the sales staff really divulge to a customer their inner workings of the business and tell them what’s selling and what’s not?

The last three years was clearly an anomaly. With falling house prices the last thing people are going to buy is a 10k watch.
