My first vintage (1680 red)

Hi,

I present my first vintage. 1680 red that for many years my grail.

I thought could never have one, until the opportunity appeared last week.

Year 73
Serial 368...
Mk6
9315/380

Sorry for my bad english.

Regards.

Impressive Watch.
You have a great collection.

I don't participate in Special Watches. The forum is not what it used to be. And you?

Heavily polished but the dial looks nice. Congrats!

Chamfers are rounded vs. sharp. How do the crownguards look?

It is obvious that it is polished. But the handles on the lower end still "prick." There is always time to restore case. I prefer it that way, because it's still very whole as I said.

It is an honest watch, in which everything goes in tune. Stretching bracelet, polishing case, colour dial, insert...

Honestly, who cares if it's polished? Charlitos is just showing us his new watch, which he's, rightly, proud of, not asking for us to dissect it.
Most 40+ year-old watches have been polished once or twice. This "has it been polished?" obsession is getting out of control.

Congrats on the watch. The red 1680 was one of my first vintage purchases as well. Great choice!

Agreed. I guess my comment was in poor taste. Apologies to OP. It just jumped out at me, as I’m so used to looking for things like that. It’s a great piece, nonetheless!

X2 and well said. Nice watch. Enjoy it.

(This polished obsession is not getting out of control...it is now way out of control.)

Love the stop Hap crystal! When this watch was new it was just a tool to tell time in and out of water, and it was used for its intended purpose!

Thanks.

It is still on the wrist since it arrived. The vintage is special. In time I will look for a 1675.
