Practice pays.

The local Govberg in Suburban Square employs an [gasp!] armed rent-a-cop.

And the kid is serious. Bet the staff know the drill as well.

I'm all for criminals getting caught and punished, and we certainly don't have all the details to make any informed judgement about the people involved or their backgrounds, but I don't see how someone getting shot in the head is a "win". Just another tragic day for humanity.

I am not trying to antagonize anyone here, but this IMHO is a win for humanity. Until such times as armed criminals realize that their chosen professions are too dangerous to pursue, no one will ever be safe. If I were in LA I would go out of my way to go shake this couragous shop owners hand.

The only sad part of this story is that the very citizenry that this criminal victimizes is paying the medical costs to make him well.

Perhaps. But the criminals often run too unchecked with little repercussion. I'm all for having the criminals first deterred, and then if necessary, caught and punished.

It's not good that anyone got injured. But I am very happy to hear that it sounds like none of the victims of the robbery were injured. I think they were very lucky.

While it is unfortunate that the citizens of CA will be picking up this dirtbag's medical bills as well as the cost of his trial and subsequent prison stay, maybe this will cause some other aspiring crooks to think twice before planning their next robbery. Actions and consequences.

In my eyes if you risk doing something stupid the. You deserve whatever happens.when you have scum that steal then they need to be delt with so the next criminals think twice.you can't rehabilitate criminals you need to eliminate them.

That's not how it works. The people who commit these crimes are not planning them in their evil lair. Most armed robberies are addiction fueled.

I am not saying I am glad the robber was shot but if you pick up a gun and plan to rob someone then you better be ready to face certain consequences for your actions. This person was threatening someone with a deadly weapon. Not a win win but I have no sympathy for the robber. He only has himself to blame.

To be fair to the owner, he gave the suspects the opportunity to drop their weapons.

They must have different gun laws in Little Saigon compared to the rest of California.........

I use to live in Huntington Beach; Little Saigon always cracked me up. Cross one street and it's like you are in a completly different country..

While it's just that a criminal is caught, and the victim was the store owner and all who adhere to the laws of society, that seems to be missing from many readers here, and the thread is becoming a personal political forum..
