Minnesota Vikings Negotiating with Patriots for..........Randy Moss????

Jay Glaser at Fox Sports is reporting that the Vikings are close to a deal which will bring Randy Moss back to the team where he began his career. Given that the Vikings are struggling mightily without Sidney Rice and have no other decent receivers, it could be a good trade, at least for a year.

**For the Brits, Aussies and basically everyone else in the world, we're talking about football. REAL football. The NFL.**

ESPN is reporting it is a done deal. Things are going to get interesting with Favre throwing to Moss.

We might see that combo Monday night against the Jets.

Especially now that he really doesn't have any stellar receivers to whom to throw. He looks ten years older this year.

Isn't it amazing that A.J. Burnett, the 100 million dollar pitcher is left off the play-off roster? I'll bet they wish they had that money back.

That's what Al Davis said.

I think he will have an immediate impact. I wonder if he will wear 84.

Does anyone else think the Vikings are headed for a complete nosedive following this season? Brett favre is done, Randy Moss is still good but he's getting old and will have tavaris Jackson throwing to him next year. The Williams brothers are on the back end of their careers, their o line seems to be getting worse with all pro Steve Hutchinson getting up there in age. Honestly, they have AP but I can see them becoming a basement team for years to come starting in 2011.

I'm not happy about it. I like Randy so I think the pats just got even worse. An 8 or 9 win team.

They are in win now mode for sure. AP's not going to be the same back in 2 years, they will have no QB, and the key players on D are getting old.

Pats are already in a soft rebuild, so they can gun for another ring or two while Brady is still Brady. They need draft picks. Not a bad trade.

They certainly haven't been building for the future. Instead of looking for a QB, they drafted a mediocre running back in Gerhart. In addition to the aging Vikings mentioned above, Jim Keinsasser, Ryan Longwell, Ben Leber and Antoine Windfield are all approaching the ends of their career.

That division belongs to the Bears and Packers for the next 5 years anyways, even if Moss (whom I love) makes an impact this year as a stopgap for Rice

Laughable as it sounds...In the next 5 years, I am more worried about Detroit, they have been in the basement so long, that their talent pool is getting pretty deep.

They're not laughable any more. I'm not a Detroit fan, but it's evident that Jim Schwartz is a good coach. They were robbed of a victory against the Bears by a literal interpretation of a rule without regard for the actual play in which a receiver plainly caught a pass in the end zone, then tossed the ball to the ground thinking he had scored. They lost to Green Bay by two points, and they've played well in every game so far. I agree the Lions are developing a lot of young depth, and I think in three years, they'll be better than the Vikings. Maybe sooner....

Detroit used to be laughable but if you take a look at the young talent on their roster I think it's safe to say they could be a problem for other NFC teams starting next year. They have a ton of high quality players under the age of 25.

Would like to see Detroit turn it around. It has been absolutely pitiful for years now, with the Thanksgiving game taking on less significance. I used to feel SO sorry for Sanders. What a player! I read the other day his son is a heck of a player too.

I just read the article and this is the first time I heard anything about it. However, I can't say I'm surprised. He hasn't helped the team much and his attitude hasn't helped him very much.

I wasn't rooting for either team yesterday, but when he was thrown the ball and the other team was called for interference and he just stopped. The ball landed 5 YARDS away from him. He could have caught it for a touchdown. I dont think they scored on that drive either. In fact, it may have been the 4 n goal that they talk about in the article posted above.

I hope he finds a team and plays to his ability because there is no doubt that he can be a great reciever.
