Doppelgänger

Ever meet up with someone who was wearing a watch you own? Had lunch with my BIL wearing an AP.

But he also has an 116718. Couldn't stop staring at it - it looked so good! He wears it a little too loose for my taste.

I'll have to get a pic of my 116718 with his!

My BILs have no taste.

Thank god neither of them have raised the topic of watches, what I paid for mine, etc. I know where that conversation would go. :-(

Wish I could say I have Mike, however, from my horology buddies and relatives I am considered a novice!

Two striking references you have posted above!

Alessandro stunning pair of watches. I just want to know whose was fast or whose was slow since they seem to be off by a few minutes apart from each other

My dad and his brother both have 16713's!

My dads is the black bezel one, my uncle has the root beer. No photos, don't want one either!

Since I own mostly all vintage pieces( exept for my atomic g shock and orange armitron) I doubt I'll see another person wearing the exact same watch as me. Maybe similar, but most likely not exact.

I haven't had my Rolex for that long. When I saw my BIL over Christmas he said "wait.....this is real?" He has a couple fakes and thinks I'm a moron for spending what I did. I think he's a moron for not smashing the fakes with a hammer and instead wearing them in public.

Good to see your BIL has good taste.

Unfortunately for me, I'm the only watch nerd in my family. Nobody understands the fascination but me. I spend $11,000 on a watch and they spend $13,000 on an ATV, so to me, my money is better spent because the watch will last a lifetime and the ATV will be garbage in 5 to 7 years.

Stop worrying Sam, I told you you were getting there...

Mike, it's nice to see that you have a friend of yours who has an interest in watches and horology. I must admit I'm pretty much the only one in my family and my friends don't really care about them but my brother is starting to like it, he is now the owner of my Maurice Lacroix quartz moonphase chronograph and my Ingersoll complete calendar, he also gives me his opinion on watches I see and the ones I buy.
