Curiosity strikes: Has a TT Daytona been awarded to the winner since the TT's inception? Wonder why the TT (not full YG or PT) is given, when the latter-mentioned metals are arguably "more precious..."

No, giving the winners a tutone Daytona is relatively recent. The winners used to get all steel Daytonas.

The 16523 was the first Daytona model number to be TT. This ref # was produced from '88-'00 (someone fact check me).

It’s a very nice piece. I have, from time to time, considered picking one up. Just a bit uncertain of the overall legibility.

I believe in 2016 the winners received SS 116520 white dial watches and then in 2017 it became TT models thereafter.
