116710LN back from Rolex service NYC

Service with polish (needed). New bezel, and crystal just because I’m anal lol. Turn around time was about 4 weeks

Since you had the new super case polished, do you feel it looks any more streamlined? Seems to be an area where the new case design may actually be preferable to the older one if the watch will be polished.

I don’t know about more streamlined, but can definitely handle a polishing much better than older cases! The anti polishers will probably still disagree though

Nice. Not sure if it’s just me but the finishing/polishing looks far from factory. May be the lighting in the pictures though.

The bracelet pic? Please elaborate.

looks brand new man. Congrats.

Too many anti polishers around. If its done by RSC or a proper mob that knows what they are doing and not a hack job there is nothing to worry about.

Enjoy that beauty.

I think it looks great, not sure which part the other poster was referring to. I was more wondering if you noticed that the lugs and/or crown guards looked any smaller. But they probably removed so little metal that it’s not even noticeable. Nice to hear the service only took about 4 weeks. Did you send it directly to RSC NY or go through an AD?

The watch looks great and brand new. Thanks for the report. Most times we only hear negatives but this is a refreshing post and a cool watch.

Beautiful! Did RSC get all of the scratches out of the PCL's, etc?

Thanks man! Yaa can’t really notice any difference in lug width The AD near me wanted to use his own “in house” guy to service and polish. I live pretty close to NYC so I just dropped it off myself.

Don’t want to bring a good man down, but I was thinking the same thing. The case bevel near the lugs looks off in photo #3. Also, the bruising looks inconsistent. I’m going to chalk it up to lighting at the moment as photo #1 looks good.

Vamp, how much did they crack you for the bezel? Was it for just the bezels or both bezel and ceramic insert?

I had to replace my 16710's bezel and insert w/o a trade in. Ended up costing for $367 or so. ...and that was just for a cheap SS bezel and aluminum insert so I can imagine your price if the insert was involved. $1000ish - whatever discount for the trade in?

Should of been more specific. It’s was just the ceramic insert. It had two tiny chips. 375 for the insert, and 180 for the crystal

In my opinion you have the most versatile GMT ever made. Never sell it.

Not bad... I thought the insert would have cost even more regardless of a trade- in.

I concur. I was bracing myself for all of the "OMG it's ruined!" posts. Glad there aren't many.

I think it looks great.

That's not too bad (cost and turn-around time), thanks for sharing. Watch looks great! Can you post some "before" pics?

Competent polishing will not change the shape of the case. You'll only see a difference if it was overpolished by an inept jeweler, and the RSC should certainly never be doing that.
