Need another service option

Only 2 months ago I had my Rolex datejust completely overhauled, at a price of over 800 Euros at a registered Rolex dealer in Spain. I have a 2 year international warranty from Rolex for the work. The watch is losing 1-3 hours daily. I am not keen on taking it back to the same place I took it to, plus Spain is in a severe lockdown now, and I am sure the place is not open. I would like to ship it perhaps to Switzerland to have it readjusted. Any suggestions as to where?

I'll let the other more knowledgeable people comment further, but my understanding was that the Rolex factories in Switzerland have been closed for the employees safety. Perhaps that has changed but if I had a recently serviced watch that was faulty then I'd wait and take it back again to my local AD for them to organise the logistics of necessary

Everything is closed at the moment so you will have to wait I afraid.

I'm not sure I understand whey you won't take it back to the original place. I don't believe the AD would have done the work themselves and it would have been sent to Rolex for the service.

While I'm no expert I would be amazed if the watch is reassembled and not tested, for it to 1-3 hours a day out something is obviously wrong. I don't know, maybe damaged in shipping etc. You've already paid for the service, let them sort it at their expense.

Yes, you're going to have to wait until the RSC local to you reopens, then have them fix it under warranty. Here in the US, I've always shipped watches directly to the Dallas RSC myself, without going through an AD and have been quite successful. Their work and customer service are both top notch. I'd imagine every RSC is similar, given the nature of how Rolex operates.

If your watch is really losing 1-3 hours a day there is something more wrong than simple adjustment.

As we don't know how all this business is going to play out or more specifically how long it will go on for
And it sounds as though you don't have much confidence in the Service center where the watch was last serviced.

I recommend posting a very nicely worded and respectfull letter directly to Rolex in Switzerland.
The letter should clearly outline your concerns regarding the service centre you have dealt with previously, the issues with the watch, the details of the watch(serial number and reference number along with the warranty details/photocopy of the card), and your preferrence regarding the way forward that you would be most comfortable with.

I am confident Rolex will see their way clear to be of assistance in the matter.
It may take a little time so be patient

Never assume.
Rolex are great but not without their problems as a globalised one stop shop.

Agreed - you’ve paid them and they will sort it for you as something is definitely wrong. It would be stupid to pay somebody else again. Even though they are shut I suggest you email them about the problem so you have it on record for when they reopen.

You may be right.
Perhaps the watch has been knocked, or it may be magnetised(unlikely).
