I couldn't stay away (or, I did a bad, bad thing)

It's been almost a year since I sold my Green Sub for some much needed cash to take care of a few t'ings...in the mean time my collection has grown to include a Breitling B-2, Omega Great White, a Glycine, a Resco Patriot, a couple Hamiltons and most recently a Sinn U1 (which unfortunately had to be returned due to a less-than-stellar transaction). But nothing quite satisfies like a Sub, does it? So after an hour-and-a-half drive to the AD yesterday (and being in the store for all of 10 minutes) I walked out with a BNIB 116610. I've agonized over this for a year and despite thinking how it couldn't compare to the "old" 16610, I must say in person this is an amazing watch.

Glad to be home again :)

I'll try, if I can ever decide how I want the bracelet to be. For some reason this one's a lot tougher to find the "sweet spot" with than the older one (if I get the clasp centered the watch sits funny, if it sits OK the clasp isn't centered, etc.). Thank god it has screwed links!

As long as it is comfortable I wouldn't worry about the clasp being off centre. More important that the case sits the way you like it. ( with lots of watches it isn't possible to centre the clasp for the typical owner, just happens the clasp for the sub c is longer than most. You will appreciate it with time and changing temperatures, activity levels, etc).

Congrats on a great pick up

- Keep fiddling with the bracelet - I had to for a while and the 'sweet' spot is there

The old subs used to fit me right out of the box, with the 116610 I had to remove two links from the 12 o'clock side and the clasp is perfectly centered.

Once you find that sweet spot with the clasp, the fit is unmatched, the new subs are so much more comfortable than the old.

Huge congrats on a fantastic purchase.

I am going through the same thing right now. I sold my 16610LV to take care of other things as well (namely an engagement). I plan to get a new Rolex by the end of year, but all I want is a BNIB LV like I had before. I think I need to spend a little more time with the 116610 and maybe I'll warm up to it a little more... I don't intend to spend 116610LN MSRP money on a BNIB 16610LV. I just can't do it when I bought my LV new for almost 2 grand less, less than a year ago....

Congrats on the Sub. Lets see some pics!

Have you tried on a 116610? Honestly it looks MUCH better in person than in pictures for some reason. The case/lugs look awkward in pictures but look fine on the wrist. One thing I wasn't sure about either is the bezel-I actually thought the ceramic might not be as shiny as the aluminum one, but it's actually HIGHLY reflective and looks amazing. But then again I'm NOT one of those "anti-bling" people so YMMV. (I would probably buy an all-polished Sub if they made one).

Good luck in your hunt for an LV!

A collection must have a Rolex submariner or it's missing something I think. Congrats again!

Just picked up my SubC on the 18th, bracelet is a huge improvement, nice to be able to make small adjustments without any tools and adjust it anywhere
