DD overload-platinum

I went to my AD the other day to check out the stock.....they had a lot of DJ 36mm, 41mm, OPs and a ton of pm models! No ss hot sports models (GMT or Subs) on display but Im sure they had a few tucked in the back. All in all, they had around 80-100 watches on display, I have not seen a full display like this for years!

I tried the platinum models. The ice blue is mesmerising. My wg 36mm DD looked and felt like a toy next to these platinum beasts!

The ice blue dial on that President looks sooooo good! Did you pull the trigger on anything?

Good selection. A blue dial DJ isn’t something I’ve seen in the case for a long time this part of the world.

No, I didn't. Just admired these beauties and checked out the stock. I am not after a particular model atm, although I have my name down for a GMT.

They had a lot of combos, black, white, blue dials. A very good selection. The 2 tone display was even more impressive!

People can say what they want but its obvious sales are down considerably. I think its gonna get worse before it gets better....

I love that ice blue dial but I am so used to my lighter 36mm DD. You need to have a strong/big wrist for that watch.....pockets, also, need to be a bit deeper!

Love the blue on these and I love the non fluted bezel. Torn between the sticks or the diamonds (is miss the lume).

No GMTs on display. They were mainly DJs.

I agree. My pleasure!

I know! With that full display..... a dozen subs, gmts and daytonas must have been stashed somewhere. But, make no mistake, there is a lot less demand at the moment.
The sport models would sell immediately.....but I was there before Covid and the display was empty. Now it was full!!!

Very nice pics.

Reminds me of this beast I tried on in December. Out of my price range but fun to try on!

I bet if you bought that plat 40 you tried on, they would’ve magically found your GMT in the back too

I never seen one with a diamond bezel. What was that beauty going for?

For sure! That beast was about 60k $. I think you can push them for any sport ss model if you buy splash that kind of cash!

IIRC with that dial it’d be in $85-90K range. (Not contradicting Verdi - just from my memory of a visit before Covid)

The DD40 now has many more dial combo’s for the Platinum models.

I confess the 228396TBR seems to be the best dial for the diamond bezel.

But I’m guessing one would be close to $100K out the door including tax.

The price was 62k usd for the ice blue dial without diamonds. I think she applied a 15% discount to get to that figure.

They also had the meteorite dial DD but I did not try it!

Wow, I thought the meteorite dials were for white gold DD and the Platinum DD dials were all ice blue.

It was NZD$148K duty-free. If it wasn't duty-free it would have been NZD$170K.
